Time blocking means planning your day in chunks, where each block of time is dedicated to a single task or type of work. Instead of keeping a long to-do list and hoping you’ll get through it, you assign each task a place in your calendar.

  4. Add support tasks. Emails, admin, calls — give them dedicated time slots rather than letting them creep into your focus work.

  5. Include breaks. Rest is fuel. Plan short breaks and a longer lunch so you don’t burn out.

Example Day with Time Blocking

  • 9:00–11:00 – Write marketing campaign draft

  • 11:00–11:30 – Break

  • 11:30–1:00 – Client work (design project)

  • 1:00–2:00 – Lunch + reset

  • 2:00–3:30 – Calls + follow-ups

  • 3:30–4:30 – Finance check + invoices

  • 4:30–5:00 – Quick inbox sweep + plan tomorrow
